Guests including Britt Patner, Sobia Shaikh, Mary Beth Shimmon and Nina Stanford recently gathered at the beautiful new de Gournay showroom in San Francisco’s Presidio Heights (decorated with de Gournay’s enchanting hand-painted wallpapers), for a charming tea party in celebration of the new collaboration between the luxury fabrics and wallpaper maker with footwear brand Aquazzura for MatchesFashion.com.
The event was hosted by the luxury retailer’s buying director, Natalie Kingham, with Vanessa Getty and Alexis Traina, and provided guests an opportunity to preview the whimsical shoe collection that is due to launch on Matchesfashion.com on May 11, 2017.
“I love interiors and I’ve always loved de Gournay wallpapers. The way I met them is that I have a room in de Gournay wallpaper at my house that was shot by a magazine, and they called me and said we should do something together,” explained Aquazzura designer Edgardo Osorio to WWD last month.
“I’m obsessed with what they do, everything is customizable, everything is hand-painted. I’m Colombian, I love everything exotic, so I thought, why don’t we make a pink jungle.”
